The Importance of Prayer
The School is very fortunate to have a Chaplaincy team. Our Chaplain, supports the spiritual and religious life of the school through liturgies, prayer, retreats and social justice events. The Chaplain aims to serve all staff and pupils. All are welcome and encouraged to visit our chapel for prayer, reflection, and silence in the midst of a busy day or to speak with the Chaplain.
At Bishop Thomas Grant School we prepare our pupils to become fully involved in the life of the Church, helping our pupils grow into mature, informed Catholics. Prayer and Liturgy are central components of this process. Individuals, form classes and staff have opportunities to gather together for prayer and to receive the sacraments. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available throughout the year for all pupils.
The Liturgy Group consists of a small group of staff and pupils who help to plan assemblies and Mass. They work closely with our fulltime School Chaplain to prepare the Liturgy.
Each form class begins the day with a prayer. We pray for our community, and ask God’s help in fulfilling his plan for us. This prayer is led by a pupil. All lessons in Bishop Thomas Grant School begin with a prayer.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available throughout the year for all pupils.
